Kelly Cawthorn is a Registered Dietitian specializing in paleolithic nutrition for athletes. The key concept of paleo nutrition is to eat the way the human body was genetically designed to eat during the “stone ages” – this includes primarily lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Kelly received her B.S. in Dietetics from San Francisco State University and her M.S. in Human Nutrition from Colorado State University where she was fortunate to learn about paleolithic nutrition from Loren Cordain, author of “The Paleo Diet” and coauthor of “The Paleo Diet for Athletes”. In addition, Kelly possesses a certificate of training in adult weight management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Kelly has worked with high level athletes including amateur runners, mixed martial artists, and college basketball players. She has been the staff Sports Dietitian for NorCal Strength and Conditioning (listed as one of the Top 30 Gyms in America by Men’s Health Magazine) in Chico, California for the past 18 months. Kelly’s passion lies in helping people reach their personal goals through nutrition – whether that goal is to optimize athletic performance, achieve weight loss, or general well-being.
Science has proven that the foods you eat directly affect your athletic performance as well as your overall health and well-being. But how do you sort out nutritional fact from fiction? As a Registered Dietitian, specializing in Paleolithic Nutrition, you and I will work together to identify your individual goals such as: managing weight, maximizing performance, improving recovery, lowering body fat, or increasing lean muscle. Along the way, I will answer your questions so you gain a true understanding of how to properly fuel and hydrate your body to reach your full physical potential. For your convenience I offer nutrition consultations by phone or email. Step 1 - Information Gathering: Fill out a brief health and diet history form as well as a 3-day log of your current food intake. This information, along with a thorough discussion of your nutrition goals, will enable me to create a personalized nutrition plan for you, complete with a diet analysis and ongoing access to personalized support. Step 2 - Initial Consultation: Schedule a phone consultation by sending an email to kcawthorn@trainingbible.com, indicating your availability. Give your-self enough time to complete and submit the food log. At the initial consultation you will receive a diet analysis based on the information you provide. We will discuss your nutrition goals and negotiate a strategy to meet those goals. You will receive shopping tips and recipes as needed, “eating on the go” options, and a 2-week personalized meal plan (including meals and snacks) based on your likes and dislikes. OR Send completed forms to kcawthorn@trainingbible.com. I will respond within 1 week with an analysis of your diet. Via email we will discuss your nutrition goals and negotiate a strategy to meet those goals. You will receive shopping tips and recipes as needed, “eating on the go” options, and a 2-week personalized meal plan (including meals and snacks) based on your likes and dislikes. Initial Consultation: $150 Step 3 - Ongoing Support: For ongoing support and to review and fine tune your nutrition plan, follow-up sessions may be purchased.
